Overview

As a Survey Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Nashville, TN office, you'll manage and deliver a wide range of surveying services, including boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, topographic, control, design, and construction surveys. You'll provide technical guidance, mentorship, and project oversight for field and office staff, ensuring the quality and accuracy of survey deliverables, maps, and property descriptions. You'll also support business development and marketing efforts to grow CEC's Survey Practice, collaborating across internal disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of surveying projects, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight

  • Coordinate with field crews and office staff on boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, control, and construction surveys

  • Review and verify technical accuracy of survey deliverables, including plats, legal descriptions, calculations, and staking reports

  • Support training and mentorship of junior staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and technical standards

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center (preferred) for processing and drafting

  • Engage in client relationship management, proposal preparation, and business development to expand the survey practice

  • Collaborate across internal disciplines to support multidiscipline project delivery

Qualifications
  • Registered Land Surveyor in Tennessee
  • 5+ years of professional land surveying experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Solid understanding of land surveying principles, legal considerations, and field-to-finish workflows
  • Manage projects including budgeting, scheduling, and invoicing
  • Communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally
  • Mentor staff, provide technical oversight, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Capabilities
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center
  • Demonstrated success in client development and practice growth initiatives
  • Lead small survey projects or field teams
  • Experience with complex land development or infrastructure surveying projects
