Job description

About Locksmith Animation

Locksmith Animation is a top-tier animation studio developing and producing high-quality features and series from hubs in the UK and Los Angeles. With a leadership team drawing on experience from Pixar, Illumination, Aardman and Blue Sky, Locksmith is a trusted partner to major distributors worldwide. Our first feature Ron's Gone Wrong was released by 20th Century and Disney to critical acclaim in 2021. Our second film That Christmas, written by Richard Curtis, launched on Netflix in December 2024. We are currently in production on Bad Fairies as part of our first-look deal with Warner Bros.

The Role

This is a dual-focus position at the heart of our LA office. Roughly half your time will be spent as a true right hand to the CEO - keeping them organized, informed and ahead of the day. The other half is running the LA office so that the team can do their best work. The right person thrives on variety, moves fast, and finds satisfaction in making everything around them run smoothly.

This is not a stepping-stone role. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves the craft of executive and office support, and who wants to be embedded in a creative studio environment where no two days are the same.

What You'll Do

Executive support for the CEO

  • Manage a complex, multi-time-zone calendar - scheduling, prioritizing and protecting the CEO's time
  • Handle all travel arrangements: flights, hotels, ground transport, rail, itineraries and contingency planning
  • Prepare briefing materials, agendas and presentations ahead of meetings
  • Screen and manage correspondence, draft communications and keep the CEO on schedule
  • Process expenses and reconcile corporate card statements
  • Provide moderate personal support
  • Offer light support to the SVP, Legal & Business Affairs on an as-needed basis

Office management

  • Be the warm, professional face of the LA office - welcoming guests, managing the front-of-house experience
  • Own day-to-day office operations: supplies ordering, catering, mail and package handling, equipment oversight, facilities management
  • Manage IT equipment procurement, building access, and parking
  • Plan and execute office events - screenings, celebrations, team gatherings - including venue scouting, catering, invitations and gifting (sometimes in partnership with other studios or PR partners)
  • Coordinate with the UK finance team on purchase orders, expense reports and corporate card reconciliations for the US office
  • Support visiting UK executives when they travel to LA

Studio relationships & operations

  • Build and maintain relationships with counterpart assistants and coordinators at partner studios and distributors - this is key to getting things done in the LA entertainment ecosystem
  • Identify opportunities to improve how the office works and proactively implement solutions
  • Anticipate needs, solve problems before they escalate, and keep the team one step ahead
What We're Looking For

Required

  • 3+ years of experience supporting senior executives, ideally handling more than one principal
  • Proven track record managing complex calendars and high-volume travel across time zones
  • Experience preparing meeting materials and executive-level presentations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - able to represent the CEO professionally in all interactions
  • Past responsibility for office management and organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working across all levels - from studio executives to talent to vendors
  • High degree of discretion and experience in environments requiring confidentiality
  • Ability to work flexibly to accommodate a multi-national, multi-time-zone business
  • Must be able to work on-site 4-5 days per week at our West LA office

Preferred

  • Experience in entertainment, media, film or television - familiarity with how the industry works and who's who is genuinely useful in this role
  • Keynote proficiency
  • College degree or equivalent experience
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000, depending on experience.

Full-time employees receive a company-funded benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
