Job Summary

About Black Dragon Capital:
Black Dragon Capital LLC (BDC) is a unique growth-oriented private equity firm focused on investing in areas where information technology is enabling the disruption of industries by allowing a faster, better and more economically compelling way to solve industry issues.  We seek to benefit from a diverse perspective combined with high performance operating and investment executives. We hire and promote based on merit, without bias, and make a genuine effort to ensure we have a diversified team that aligns with the diversity of our portfolio companies and their clients. We intend to maintain over 65% of our team members as culturally or gender diverse, and work hard to foster a supportive and welcoming workplace. Bringing a leadership and advisory group of successful entrepreneurs, former operators and deal making experience, Black Dragon’s team has a track record of building market leading companies, driving above market returns and accelerating growth and profitability through its distribution connections, strategic advice, and active participation within our investments, primarily in financial technologies, eCommerce, and sports and media technology markets.
About Dragons Academy:
Traditional public and private schools are leaving families frustrated, while homeschooling, though the fastest-growing alternative puts tremendous strain on parents. The system isn’t working, and families are stuck choosing between rigid institutions or overwhelming do-it-yourself solutions.
That’s why we launched Dragon Academy. Founded by Black Dragon Capital, technology entrepreneurs, and pioneers in education, Dragons Academy was founded by successful technology entrepreneurs, engaged educators and pioneers in education-based programs to create a next generation fully accredited 1 to 1 learning school for grades K to 12, where personalized education unlocks the full potential of students while providing unprecedented flexibility and oversight by parents and families. Through at-home, virtual, and in-person personalized instruction, we empower students to thrive while giving families the freedom and support they need.
Role Overview:

Our Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking passionate, reflective elementary teachers with an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to create a different kind of learning experience. The ideal candidate will not only deliver highly personalized instruction, but also inspire curiosity, foster foundational academic skills, and nurture confidence and independence across core subjects including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. We want educators who share in the frustration with traditional learning environments and are eager to build a better future—one student at a time.
The right educator will:
  • Reimagine traditional lessons as launchpads, designing bold, engaging experiences that not only build literacy and numeracy but also spark critical and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Fuel curiosity and creativity by treating every project as a chance for students to invent, experiment, and connect learning to real-world challenges.
  • Model resilience and growth, empowering students to take risks, learn from setbacks, and approach the future with confidence and agility.
  • Thrive in fast-moving, flexible environments, collaborating with families and teammates to co-create a learning culture that’s as innovative as it is student-centered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design immersive learning experiences across core math curriculum for grades 6–12, that feel less like “lessons” and more like personal journeys.
  • Adapt strategies to meet every student’s unique style, transforming challenges into opportunities.
  • Experiment with new models and tools that disrupt the traditional mold of education.
  • Measure what matters, using assessments not as shackles, but as instruments for growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate deeply with families to co-create individualized learning paths that empower rather than constrain.
  • Contribute to the blueprint of Dragons Academy, helping shape the policies, culture, and direction of a school determined to lead education into its next era.

This isn’t just a teaching job. It’s a chance to join a movement. To stand at the front lines of education’s evolution. To be part teacher, part innovator, part entrepreneur.

Qualifications:
Knowledge / Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics education, Mathematics, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • Must hold valid Florida Teacher Certification in Math 6–12 or Middle Grades Math 5–9, OR a Temporary Florida Teaching Certificate with an agreement to complete requirements for full Florida Educator Certification in Math 6–12 or Middle Grades Math 5–9 within three years of employment start date.
