Be the Best Volunteer Services Coordinator You Can Be

If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you:

  • Associate degree, preferred
  • 2+ years professional experience as a volunteer in a healthcare, human services or similar agency
  • 2+ years’ experience in a healthcare setting, hospice, preferred
  • Ability to coordinate, supervise and evaluate volunteer services
  • Ability to organize, educate and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs
  • Experience in hospice, especially in bedside volunteering, training and supporting adults, preferred

Responsibilities:

As a Volunteer Services Coordinator, you will:

  • Maintain all necessary volunteer records, including up-to-date volunteer lists, availability, volunteer assignments, volunteer time and volunteer personnel records
  • Participate in volunteer recruitment and conduct volunteer screening interviews
  • In collaboration with the Director-Patient Experience (DPE), develop and coordinate volunteer training classes and ongoing volunteer education and support meetings
  • Coordinate the activities of volunteers not involved in direct patient care
  • Assist the DPE to creatively develop and implement the volunteer program utilizing community, regional, and national resources
  • Coordinate Volunteer Recognition activities
  • Receive information on new admissions;
  • Assign volunteers to team(s) and provide them with the necessary information to support patient needs
