JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Downstream Marketing is responsible for translating portfolio and brand strategy into compelling, commercially effective marketing execution. This role owns how the brand shows up in the market and how marketing drives adoption, preference, and growth.
This leader will build, shape, and elevate a downstream marketing organization, strengthening fundamentals while modernizing capabilities. The role requires a hands-on people leader who can assess the current team, clarify roles and expectations, raise creative and execution standards, and deliver near-term results while building a stronger foundation for the future.
The Director partners closely with Sales, Product Management, and Professional Education, and works extensively with external agencies to deliver differentiated, high-impact marketing in a fast-moving, competitive environment.
The marketing leader must have a proven track record of developing high-performing team and successful product launches. The leader will work with executives, global stakeholders, and cross functional teams. Strong competencies in analytics, customer centric, and a data-driven approach to determining root cause and counter measures.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a downstream marketing team spanning brand activation, campaigns, content, and sales enablement
  • Assess existing team capabilities and address gaps through coaching, targeted hiring, and clear role definition
  • Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and performance expectations
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Create strong alignment and handoffs with upstream marketing and cross-functional partners

Go-to-Market & Marketing Execution

  • Own downstream execution for product launches, including messaging, campaign development, sales tools, and channel activation
  • Translate upstream strategy and positioning into customer-ready marketing programs
  • Lead development of integrated campaigns across digital, field, events, education, and distribution channels
  • Ensure consistent, differentiated brand expression across all customer touchpoints

Creative & Agency Leadership

  • Serve as the primary lead for creative, digital, media, and content agencies
  • Develop clear briefs, timelines, budgets, and success metrics for agency partners
  • Push for creative excellence while balancing speed, cost, and commercial impact
  • Evaluate and evolve the agency ecosystem to ensure the right capabilities are in place

Sales Enablement & Customer Engagement

  • Partner with Sales leadership to deliver practical, high-impact selling tools and programs
  • Oversee development of content and materials that improve adoption, utilization, and customer confidence
  • Ensure marketing outputs are grounded in real customer and clinician insights

Performance, Analytics & Modern Marketing Practices

  • Use data and analytics to evaluate campaign performance and guide optimization
  • Apply a test-and-learn mindset across digital, content, and demand-driven initiatives
  • Balance creativity with discipline, using insights to inform decisions and investments
  • Own downstream marketing budgets and agency spend with a clear ROI focus

  • Lead team of 5-6 associates; total org of 15-20 associates.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience with significant downstream ownership
  • 5+ years leading and developing marketing teams
  • Demonstrated experience managing external agencies and creative partners
  • Experience in medical devices or regulated industries strongly preferred
  • Proven success launching products and campaigns that drive growth
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 30%
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to Brea, CA or Pomona, CA. This is NOT a remote opportunity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of diversified business experience, global preferred.
  • Experience in dental industry
  • Strong leadership skills, program management abilities and demonstrated success influencing a global team.
  • Solid organizational skills; Able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, strong desire to learn.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
