Description SAIC provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role - protecting our national security. SAIC is seeking a Sustainment Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer to support a Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Management Office (PMO) located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We conduct Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities for state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, providing global secure, survivable and protected communications for our Nation's warfighters. We are looking for an innovative, creative and highly-motivated T&E Engineer capable of autonomous, on-the-job learning/growth to conduct independent testing as well as terminal operations for a diverse set of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems and NC3 capabilities/infrastructure. The ideal candidate will employ their skills and experience to tackle technical challenges and drive executable solutions for legacy and transitioning strategic and tactical space-based telecommunication capabilities. The candidate will conduct test planning, execution and assessments using established/proven government processes and procedures for independent verification and validation of new hardware/software changes to technical baselines. Work in a state-of-the-art laboratory with multiple tools to effectively and efficiently test system upgrades/improvements. Join our high-functioning, high-performing MSEIT Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT) and be an important part of directly and positively affecting Joint and Allied combat readiness as they employ MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals and software applications worldwide during full spectrum military operations. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force's Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force's acquisition of state-of-the-art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. Key Responsibilities: • Design, plan, coordinate and execute testing on the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (Global-ASNT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre-Processor (TDSPP), MILSATCOM Messaging System (MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS) and various other MILSATCOM systems, subsystems and devices.
• Provide engineering and technical support, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, system-level anomaly resolution and identification and isolation of software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications.
• Author and deliver technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports.
• Travel: Up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government customer direction. Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Active DoW SECRET clearance required to be considered for this position.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar technical discipline from an accredited university. • 10+ years leadership/management experience.
• 5+ years experience with DoW/USAF/USSF test processes and documentation.
• 5+ years experience working with military or DoW civilian clients and managing professional relationships.
• 5+ years experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment.
• Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills. DESIRED: • 5+ years of Developmental Test (DT) experience supporting a DoW Lead Developmental Test Organization (LDTO) or other verification test organization.
• 5+ years of Operational Test (OT) experience supporting a DoW Operational Test Agency (OTA) or other validation test organization.
• Proper handling and use of cryptographic equipment.
• Understands basic principles of cyber security testing focused on DoW STIG compliance.
• Possesses International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (e.g., ASEP, CSEP, ESEP).
• Possesses knowledge of DoW mission system sustainment processes.
• Understands Narrowband/Wideband/Protected SATCOM capabilities; previously operated/maintained one or more of the following systems: FAB-T, MMS, Global-ASNT and/or GBS.
• Understands basic use of Jira/Confluence or other Digital Engineering (DE) applications (e.g., MBSE). Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
