Night Shift SSI Process Operator - Teutopolis, IL
Compensation:
  • Starting wage range is $19.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience
  • PTO available after 7 days
  • Overtime premiums paid over 40 hours worked in a week.
  • Double time pay for time worked on Sundays.
  • Bonus based on financial performance of the company.
Summary: The main responsibilities of an SSI Process Operator include modifying wheat-based products using heat and steam for predetermined periods of time to meet customer specifications. The SSI Process Operator must perform moisture and viscosity tests during production to ensure that specifications are being met. After production of product the SSI Process Operator transfers the product from storage bins to appropriate storage container to meet customer specifications. SSI Process Operator will maintain and clean equipment, collect micro samples, and clean SSI Plants.
Responsibilities: Knowledge of maintenance, flour transfer, packing, loading and sanitation. Operate computerized equipment. Prepare production report, route flour grades/blends to proper bins and add correct ingredients to flour and maintain proper levels in feeders. Document/log production sheet viscosity results from flow-cup and Brookfield applications. Check and document on a daily basis - metal detector; tanks. Perform moisture checks, viscosity on finished product and adjust processing parameters accordingly. Inspect entire HT processing plant area making sure all the machines are running properly. Ensure product safety by following all GMP's and HACCP program set forth for food plant. Requires physical cleaning of plant to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Collect samples of finished flour for analysis by lab personnel; inspect HT tankers/document, load tanker. List loads on daily log sheet and complete bill of lading. Responsible for shutting down HT system when emergency occurs. Additional opportunities available based on skill set and ability.
Qualifications:
  • Individual must excel in respect, trust and responsibility, striving for continuous improvement, commitment to excellence.
  • Have ability to lift weights of fifty (50).
  • Must have basic Microsoft Office computer skills, ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy, and ability to handle the moderately technical area of handling machinery involved in the processing area.
  • We require excellent skills in verbal communication, follow-through, teamwork and organization, the ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing.
  • Must have high school diploma or GED required, with the ability to read, write and perform mathematics.
  • Must be able to frequently utilize stairs in a seven (7) story plant, climb seven (7) foot ladders and maneuver uneven terrain, to withstand hot temperatures.
  • Must be able and willing to work multiple, rotating shifts.

Hours:
Rotating Night shift 7pm-7am including weekends with overtime as needed.
