Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL - we do business as: Olathe Millwork, Warren Brothers, River City Millwork respectfully.)
Position Summary:
The Door Shop Production Associate works in the door shop and supports the manufacturing and assembly of interior and exterior doors. This role involves assisting with production tasks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, staging doors for the next day's production, and ensuring that quality standards are met. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
  • Pull and stage doors for the next day's production, ensuring they are organized and ready for assembly.
  • Load, unload, and move materials as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment following all safety procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or material shortages to the supervisor.
  • Support inventory management and restocking of materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.

Job Requirements (Education & Experience):
  • Experience with a production environment, especially in the wood working industries, is a huge plus (machine operators, machinist, assemblers, etc)
  • Experienced in forklift operation, Cherry picker and similar equipment (certification preferred)
  • Lumber yard/ door experience a plus.
  • Skilled in verifying incoming materials against documentation, reporting discrepancies or damage, and ensuring proper inventory handling.
  • An effective communicator who works well with customers and team members to resolve fabrication or delivery issues.
  • Reliable and flexible, with the ability to locate, stage, and prepare materials for timely customer pickup or delivery.
  • Assist our delivery drivers by loading and securing material in the truck.

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Strong physical stamina - this role requires a lot of physical activity. You will routinely lift and carry products from 75-100 lbs. weight with a helper.
  • The functions of this position are performed in a production warehouse, consistently exposed to modest amounts of heat, dust, fumes and noise.

This role is a Safety Sensitive position and subject to routine drug screenings.
