UnityPoint Health - Fort Dodge provides coordinated clinic, hospital and home-based care for patients in Fort Dodge and surrounding communities. As a designated regional referral center Trinity Regional Medical Center offers a wide range of primary and secondary care services. Trinity is accredited by DNV Healthcare Inc. and has achieved Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
  • Part-time opportunity with an established hospital medicine program serving Fort Dodge and the surrounding communities
  • Cohesive group of experienced colleagues and supportive staff
  • Specialists include: Cardiology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Nephrology, Intensivist, GI, Emergency Medicine, Podiatry, Tele-Neurology, Tele-Psychiatry, Tele-ID, Palliative Care, etc.
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities
  • Admitting and rounding on medical/surgical patients 18-years and older
  • Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Seven to eight, 12-hour shifts per month; 7a - 7p
  • Block scheduling in 7-on 7-off rotation
  • Telehospitalist service overnight
  • Average patients/day = 14-16
  • Open ICU with intensivist available to consult
  • No night shifts, no call, no procedures and no codes
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding work/life balance with flexible scheduling
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
  • J-1 waiver sponsorship available
