Job description

Turner Staffing Group is seeking a professional, organized, and service-oriented Administrative Assistant to support operations at a mining project in Elko, Nevada. This is a full-time, on-site, project-based assignment supporting site leadership and the broader project team.


The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative, logistical, reporting, and office support while helping maintain an organized and efficient work environment.


This position will work directly for Turner Staffing Group while supporting our client's mining project.


This opportunity may also be a strong fit for a current college or university student who is completing their degree and looking to gain professional experience in a project-based environment. Students are encouraged to apply as long as they can consistently work a full-time daytime schedule of either four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days per week.


The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential, including experience with data entry, data manipulation, tracking, and report preparation.


Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to site leadership and project personnel.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry and maintain project records, spreadsheets, trackers, and reports.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to organize, manipulate, track, and report project-related information.
  • Prepare and update routine reports, spreadsheets, documents, and presentations.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical files and documentation.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and project activities.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics and prepare materials as needed.
  • Support communication and information flow between site personnel, Turner Staffing Group, and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with onboarding coordination, employee documentation, and workforce-related administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Support office supply, equipment, and general site office needs.
  • Assist with travel, lodging, and other logistical coordination when required.
  • Respond professionally to questions and requests from employees, supervisors, and project personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling employee, project, and business information.
  • Help maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming site office.
  • Follow applicable site safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide additional administrative and project support as needed.


Qualifications

  • Previous administrative, office, customer service, data entry, project support, or similar experience is preferred.
  • Current college or university students are encouraged to apply, provided they can meet the full-time daytime work schedule.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including experience with:
  • Data entry and spreadsheet maintenance
  • Sorting, filtering, and organizing data
  • Data manipulation and cleanup
  • Creating and maintaining trackers
  • Preparing reports from spreadsheet data
  • Formulas and standard Excel functions
  • Strong general computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional and service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly.

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during daytime business/project hours, on either a 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour schedule.
  • Ability to work on-site at a mining project near Elko, Nevada.
  • Mining, construction, industrial, or project-site experience is helpful but not required.

Project-Based Opportunity

This is a full-time, project-based position with Turner Staffing Group supporting a mining client's project near Elko. For the right candidate, there is a possibility of transitioning to a direct-hire opportunity based on performance, overall fit, client needs, and project requirements. A transition to direct hire is not guaranteed.


Work Authorization

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
