HIRING IMMEDIATELY: FORKLIFT OPERATOR IN ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL
Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Forklift Operator to join our team in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This individual will be responsible for moving goods, loaded pallets and equipment safely and securely. In addition to driving forklifts, a Forklift Driver also has a range of other warehouse duties such as packaging shipments or checking inventories. The ideal candidate will possess experience operating forklifts, attention to detail, communication skills, and organization skills. Apply online and kickstart your career today!
Pay, Schedule, and Location
  • Starting at $19.50/hour

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load and unload standard trailers, ocean containers, and airline ULDs (Unit Load Devices)
  • Air & Ocean Freight Handling: Building up and breaking down aircraft pallets and containers Consolidating and staging Less-than-Container Load (LCL) and Full Container Load (FCL) shipments
  • Weighing & Dimming: Accurately measuring the dimensions (dimming) and weighing cargo, as this directly impacts international shipping documentation, routing, and pricing
  • Inventory & Scanning: Using RF scanners to receive freight, cross-reference shipping documents (like Air Waybills and Bills of Lading), and track cargo movement through the warehouse
  • Cargo Screening & Security: Assisting with the physical handling of outbound air cargo to ensure it passes TSA screening and internal security compliance regulations
  • Palletizing & Securing: Shrink-wrapping, banding, and netting pallets so they are structurally secure for turbulent international air or ocean transit
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 1 to 2+ years of forklift and material handling experience. Background in freight forwarding, airline cargo, or a 3PL warehouse environment is highly preferred
  • Must typically pass a strict TSA background check, including fingerprinting
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work in a fast-paced environment that may experience temperature fluctuations depending on the season
  • Valid forklift certification (or the ability to pass an on-site certification test). Basic HAZMAT handling awareness is a plus
  • Basic math skills for verifying weights and dimensions, and attention to detail to ensure freight is routed to the correct international destination
