This is a Travel position. You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

Description:
Pediatric MRI Technologist
Shift Details: Monday-Friday, 1:00 PM-9:30 PM, with some flexibility; holidays per unit needs.
On Call: None
Position Overview
  • Seeking an MRI Technologist to join a pediatric imaging team
  • Must hold an associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is a plus
  • Must be comfortable scanning neonates through age 18 and providing age-appropriate care
  • Must be familiar with medical terminology
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility
  • Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging
  • Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable
  • Insert IVs when necessary for the test - IVs are not placed on this unit
  • Document all procedures while maintaining the confidentiality of patient information
  • Perform patient care tasks as needed
  • Adhere to all MRI safety policies and guidelines
  • Adjust scanning parameters to accommodate a variety of patient ages
  • Properly screen and prepare the patient for scanning
  • Identify contraindications for safe scanning
  • Independently determine when a scan must be stopped due to motion and sedation/anesthesia is needed
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years of MRI experience
  • Siemens scanner experience - required to be considered
  • Level 1 Trauma Center experience
  • Minimum six (6) months of pediatric experience
  • ARRT certification
  • NYS Radiology Technologist License - candidates without this license at time of submission will be considered, but it must be obtained prior to start
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
