MRI Technologist Job Summary
We are seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team. You must have an associate
degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology; certification from the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is a plus. Our ideal
candidate knows how to operate the MRI machine efficiently, can make patients
feel comfortable before and during the scanning procedure, and coordinates with
the patient's physician to ensure the results are received in a timely
manner. Must be comfortable scanning neonates through Age 18 and provide age-appropriate
care. You also must be familiar with medical terminology and be able to
stand for extended periods.
MRI Technologist Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited
to:
Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility
Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic
imaging
Prepare patients for scans and explain the
procedure to help them feel comfortable
Insert IVs when necessary for the test. We
do not place IVs here.
Document all procedures while maintaining the
confidentiality of patient information
Patient care tasks as needed
Adhere to all MRI safety policies and guidelines
Can adjust scanning parameters to accommodate a
variety of patient ages.
Can properly screen and prepare the patient for
scanning
Can identify contraindications for safe scanning
Can independently determine when a scan must be
stopped due to motion and sedation/anesthesia is needed.
MRI
Technologist:
Two (2) Years' Experience
BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
must have siemens scanner experience to be
considered.
Level 1 Trauma Center Experience
6 months of pediatric experience
ARRT
NYS Rad Tech License (willing to consider candidates
who do not have this at time of submission but MUST obtain prior to start)
