Role Overview
We are supporting a large-scale hyperscale data center project for a top-tier technology client in Sparks, NV. This project is being delivered in partnership with a major Electrical contractor and involves highly complex electrical and mission-critical systems. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accurate document control, versioning, and turnover execution are critical to project success.
The Senior Document Controller will be responsible for managing and maintaining all project documentation throughout the full lifecycle of the project from design and construction through commissioning and final turnover.
This role will serve as the central point of control for document flow, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution across all stakeholders including engineering, field teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of project documentation including:
    • Drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and reports
  • Maintain strict version control, document tracking, and audit trails
  • Ensure all documents are properly filed, indexed, and accessible within project systems
  • Control document numbering, naming conventions, and workflows
  • Administer and maintain document control platforms such as:
    • Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, or similar systems
  • Ensure all stakeholders are using correct document workflows and processes
  • Generate reports on document status, pending approvals, and workflows
  • Lead document preparation for project turnover packages
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and commissioning teams to ensure:
    • Completion of turnover documentation (O&M manuals, as-builts, test reports)
  • Track and manage punchlist and closeout documentation
  • Ensure documentation meets client and project standards for handover
  • Act as liaison between Engineering teams, project management, field teams, subcontractors
  • Support timely distribution of documents and updates across teams
  • Participate in project meetings to track document-related deliverables
  • Ensure all documentation complies with:
    • Project standards
    • Client requirements
    • Regulatory and quality requirements
  • Support audits and document reviews as needed

Requirements
  • 5-10+ years of experience in document control within construction projects
  • Strong experience on large-scale industrial, data center, or mission-critical projects
  • Experience supporting full project lifecycle
  • Ability to manage high-volume documentation in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication skills across field and office teams
  • Proactive in identifying gaps in documentation and workflows
  • Experience supporting QA/QC and commissioning teams during turnover
  • High proficiency in document control systems (Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation workflows (RFIs, submittals, as-builts)

Preferred
  • Experience on hyperscale data center projects (NVIDIA, Google, Meta, etc.)
  • Exposure to commissioning and turnover processes (L1-L5, O&M manuals, closeout packages)
  • Familiarity with electrical or MEP-heavy environments
