Job description

Job Overview

Fairview Range is seeking an X-Ray Operator to join our Diagnostic Imaging team in Hibbing, MN.

The DI Operator performs imaging procedures by applying ionizing radiation for an accurate diagnosis. This position will provide both inpatient and outpatient services.

Schedule:  This position will work 72 to 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8 hours on the day and evening shifts. Weekends: Rotating.

With imaging services at Fairview Range Medical Center and the Fairview Mesaba clinics, we serve patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. We provide a vast array of imaging services including x-ray, CT, MRI, mammography, fluoroscopy, and pain management, as well as ultrasound and nuclear medicine.  Are you interested in joining our incredible team? As a Diagnostic Imaging Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Operates equipment using proper technical factors while providing radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Keeps current on advancing technologies in radiology
  • Ensure the procedure is explained to the patient prior to the exam.
  • Assures care of the physical and psychological needs of the patient by maintaining proper positioning and transferring techniques.
  • Ensure double ID is performed
  • Responsible for filing and distribution of imaging reports.
  • Acquire, document and assure proper distribution of patient information.
  • Following standardized protocols, maintains accurate patient information and documentation.
  • Ensure equipment is warmed up and in proper working order.
  • Assemble daily supplies.
  • Assists manager in proper patient billing.
  • Prepares daily work requests.
  • Completes all duties assigned to the afternoon, midnight and weekend when scheduled on the shifts.
  • Ensures x-ray table and equipment are cleaned on a daily routine basis.
  • Assembles each room in an orderly fashion daily.
  • Assigned cleaning is performed on time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Has passed the State of MN x-ray operator's test
  • Limited Scope X-Ray Op Lic
