Job description

Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. We are on a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Document Control Specialist. This position reports to the Quality Manager and will work in Sparta, TN.
About the position
As Document Control Specialist of the Sparta team, you will be involved in working with all types of controlled documents by linking Engineering Prints and controlling ISO documents along with focusing on developing SOP and Work Instructions for the manufacturing of products and sub-components produced throughout the Sparta Plant. Processes are developed by the Manufacturing Engineering Team that will work in collaboration with the Document Control Specialist to develop specific SOP and Work Instructions for Production of product. This position will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure all specifications are accurate and easily understood with production team members. The Document Control Specialist will ensure all Dometic-Sparta, TN documents are reviewed, organized, and approved accordingly and ensure the 1Factory QMS (Quality Management System) remains current.
Your Main Responsibilities
  • Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for all new Production releases
  • Revise current SOPs and Work Instructions into our new SOP standard
  • Support all ISO Management System Requirements, SOPs, Work Instructions, Document Control, and Recordkeeping for auditing Production processes
  • Update and maintain Documents and Records in 1Factory QMS
  • Obtain and catalog photos and illustrations to be used in SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Perform recordkeeping, organization, and archiving of records
  • Support Document / Form numbering and revisioning
  • Assist Production Leadership with SOP training for Production Team Members
  • Review, support, and organize Product records and files
  • Assist with the implementation of Corrective Actions and Process improvements
  • On occasion, may be required to work across multiple shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements
A suitable background would be a solid experience within Document Control and Manufacturing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
  • A.S or B.S. Degree in a technical discipline with 2-5 years experience in a related field
  • Technical writing (creating and formatting documents) and Presentation skills
  • Ability to read drawings, understand tolerancing, and interpret product specifications
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing (QMS) Systems
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PPT, Teams, Access
