This opportunity entails document control and project controls for engineering and construction projects. It is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing document control systems, standards, and workflows to support the full lifecycle of project records ensuring accuracy, compliance, accessibility, and effective information flow across project teams.
The position administers document control platforms and processes, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other contractor/design-builder documentation, while ensuring alignment with contract requirements and organizational standards. It also plays a key role in contract administration activities, including supporting change order development, validating contractor payment applications, and maintaining accurate financial and project records within project systems.
In addition, this role monitors project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts; produces reporting and analysis to support project and business leadership; and ensures compliance with regulatory, client, and company requirements, including DBE participation and documentation standards.
What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for the technical work and supervision of others' work for one or more project controls disciplines including but not limited to; scheduling, estimating, cost control, risk management, document control and project management information systems
  • Creates, edits, and publishes guidelines, manuals, and documents for use by a portion of the office's project controls staff.
  • Supervises and performs quality control/quality assurance on project controls work efforts, products, deliverables.
  • Supervisory duties typically include 1-2 of the following (as applicable):
  • Scheduling efforts including preparation and analysis of schedule baseline, progress schedules, specialty schedules, schedule analysis and project progress reporting.
  • Estimating efforts including developing construction estimates, preparing independent cost estimates, and supporting scenario analysis.
  • Budget/cost control efforts including guidance and oversight of the cost management system, preparation of cost report templates, and issue of monthly cost and change management report deliverables.
  • Risk management efforts including preparation and analysis of risk-based estimating products.
  • PMIS/PMCS and document control efforts including administration, filing, and archiving of engineering, procurement, and construction documents, reports, deliverables, invoices, and business policies and procedures.
  • Development, implementation, utilization and maintenance of management information systems, including doc control, cost and scheduling systems.
  • Estimate validation, schedule validation, and constructability comments to support design teams during plan development.
  • Supports the preparation of procurement documents related to project controls specifications.
  • Prepares project managers and office leadership for internal and external meetings by providing reports, analysis, and backup documentation to assist in the management and dissemination of information, reports, and deliverables to project managers, office leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Supports department growth by participating in business development and marketing efforts.
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, developing and retaining staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
  • Coordinates schedules and approves timecards.
  • Aiding in establishing employees' objectives and provides feedback from clients while coaching and mentoring their team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Business and 6 years related experience, or
  • In lieu of education, 10 years related experience

The approximate pay range for the Greater Seattle, WA Metro Area is $132,461.84 - $207,183.90. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
