Overall Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for conducting Product Inspections on first receipts of all newly introduced products at the EDC. Prepare and Distribute New Product Inspection Reports, Corrective Action Reports. Manage inventory of product samples received from vendors or pulled from stock for quality inspections, merchandise reviews, photography, etc. Assist with reviewing, analyzing and processing products posted to the HVT Partner Site. Will work in close collaboration with the Quality Control Management and third-party vendors in identifying, isolating and resolving quality issues.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Receiving, unboxing and assembling product for New Product Inspections, Quality Control Reviews, Merchandise / Product Development activities and Photography. 
  • Conduct thorough inspections and reviews of all new merchandise pulled from the first shipment of these products received at the EDC. 
  • Confirm compliance and identify any noncompliance with all relevant packaging standards, product specifications, design details, finish standards, etc.. 
  • Clearly identify and photograph all defects and damages discovered during the product inspection process. 
  • Complete and distribute New Product Inspection Reports for each new product and/or collection received.
  • For the Distribution Teams benefit, log all assembly times and assembly issues found during the inspection process.
  • Help maintain inventory accuracy relevant to product samples, photo studio samples, etc.
  • Analyze products posted to the HVT Partner Site to identify root causes for the return in order to apply proper dispositions for each product. 
  • Regularly review the Partner Site and follow up with vendors who are not monitoring their products. 
  • Audit DMR’s to ensure that Havertys guidelines are followed per the DMR policy.
  • Assist Merchandising and Marketing with keying and scheduling photography transfers to Kreber.  
  • Review customer service ticket that are received by customer service to help determine this disposition of the product and resolve the customers issues. 
  • Assist with creating the NPQR reports in Workfront during our NPQR review with the vendors. 
Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have experience working with furniture in a distribution, repair and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to accurately and consistently document observations.
  • Ability to follow and document procedures and or processes.
  • Needs basic computer skills for BOS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and photography applications.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Must be self motivated, organized and conscientious in completing assignments and maintaining work areas.
  • Capable of working in a professional manner with other internal departments and vendors.
  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs. repeatedly throughout each work day.
