Job description

We are seeking a skilled Clamp Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, particularly clamp trucks and forklifts, and possess a strong understanding of warehouse distribution, shipping and receiving, and materials handling. This role is essential for efficient order picking, loading, unloading, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Prior warehouse management system experience and OSHA compliance knowledge are highly valued to ensure safe and effective operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate clamp trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
  • Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately
  • Handle shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control
  • Assist with materials handling tasks such as stacking, organizing, and storing goods safely
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Support warehouse supervision in managing daily operations and adhering to safety protocols
  • Participate in inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
  • Utilize crane or construction equipment knowledge for specialized lifting or movement tasks when required

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating clamp trucks, forklifts, order pickers, and other heavy equipment within a warehouse or distribution center
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking, and materials handling processes
  • Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards for warehouse operations
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Warehouse or construction background preferred; warehouse supervisor experience is a plus
  • Valid certification for forklift operation (if applicable) is required or must be obtained prior to employment
  • Excellent attention to detail, safety consciousness, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
