Human Resources Representative I

Location: Atlanta, GA Contract- 6 Months Client- Southern Company Services.

Position Overview

The Human Resources Representative I plays a key role within the HR department by supporting employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives. This position serves as a liaison between employees and HR leadership, ensuring HR operations run efficiently while fostering a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in HR best practices, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple HR functions with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Provide guidance and support on HR-related matters.
    • Assist in resolving routine employee issues and escalating complex concerns when necessary.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
    • Post job openings and review resumes.
    • Conduct initial candidate screenings.
    • Schedule interviews and support hiring managers throughout the selection process.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Administer employee benefits programs including: Health insurance, Retirement plans, Other employee benefits.
    • Assist employees with benefits inquiries and enrollment changes.
  • HR Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR policies, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, Wage and hour laws.
    • Monitor and update HR policies as needed.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding
    • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation sessions.
    • Ensure completion of required employment documentation.
    • Conduct exit interviews and process termination paperwork.
    • Collect company property during employee departures.
  • Records Management
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HR systems.
    • Ensure data integrity and security.
  • Performance Management
    • Assist in tracking performance reviews.
    • Support performance improvement plans and related documentation.
  • Training & Development
    • Coordinate training programs.
    • Track employee training progress.
    • Support logistics for training initiatives.
  • Reporting & Analytics
    • Generate HR reports and metrics such as Headcount, Turnover rates, Recruitment statistics, Compliance data.
  • Employee Engagement
    • Support engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
    • Assist with team-building activities and internal communications.

Required Qualifications

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
    • HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are a plus.
  • Experience
    • Several years of experience in HR roles, including Employee relations, Recruitment, Benefits administration.
  • Knowledge & Skills
    • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
    • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
