Description
TITLE: Helping Hands
REPORTS TO: Administrator
Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of the Helping Hands position is to provide support and assistance to staff and our residents. This can be as simple as passing ice water, folding linens, making beds, passing meal trays, and providing wheelchair transportation assistance to escort our seniors safely within the facility.
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Cleaning and making resident beds.
  2. Emptying trash cans.
  3. Helping serve resident meal trays.
  4. Clearing trays and cleaning kitchen area after meals.
  5. Removing food carts to the Dietary Department after meals.
  6. Assisting with passing ice water.
  7. Assisting with wheelchair transportation within the facility.
  8. Being aware of standard precautions and avoidance of contamination.
  9. Assisting with any additional day to day functions as delegated by your supervisor.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Previous customer service or healthcare experience is preferred.
  2. Previous work with the elderly in any capacity is preferred.
  3. Ability to multi-task and not be bothered by frequent change in tasks is required.
  4. Respect for maintaining confidentiality is required.
