Senior Litigation Docket Specialist
The Senior Litigation Docket Specialist is responsible for managing litigation docketing and court filing activities in support of attorneys and legal teams. Based in Dallas or Houston, this role oversees the processing of court documents, maintains docketing databases, tracks deadlines, conducts legal and procedural research, and ensures compliance with court rules and filing requirements. Responsibilities include performing electronic filings in state and federal courts, reviewing incoming and outgoing court documents, calendaring deadlines using CourtAlert, coordinating service of process, communicating procedural requirements to attorneys and staff, delivering courtesy copies to courts when necessary, and providing general support to the Managing Attorney's Office.
Qualified candidates should have a strong understanding of court docketing, calendaring procedures, and state and federal court filing practices. Experience with electronic filing systems such as e-File Texas, NexGen, and PACER is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with rules-based calendaring software such as CourtAlert, CompuLaw, or MA3000. Knowledge of Westlaw, Practical Law, and Lexis is preferred.
Candidates should have at least five years of litigation docketing experience, with large law firm experience strongly preferred. A four-year degree, paralegal certificate, and NALS, NALA, or TBLS certification are considered advantageous.
