Job Purpose

The Senior Azure Administrator is a strategic, architecture‑focused, decision‑making role. This position defines standards, leads complex initiatives, and ensures Azure environments meet enterprise requirements for security, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency, while mentoring others and shaping the organization’s cloud future.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and architect full Azure environments, including compute, storage, networking, identity, HA/DR, and governance models
  • Define and maintain architecture standards, performance baselines, and operational best practices
  • Lead on‑premises to Azure migrations and major infrastructure modernization initiatives
Identity & Access Management (Azure AD / Entra ID)
  • Architect hybrid identity solutions (Azure AD Connect, federation models)
  • Define RBAC strategies, privileged access models, and Zero Trust policies
  • Implement and govern Conditional Access, MFA, and Identity Protection controls
Security & Compliance
  • Design and own the enterprise Azure security posture
  • Lead threat analysis, incident response, and security remediation efforts
  • Implement advanced security controls such as Private Endpoints, Key Vault policies, SIEM integrations, and Defender for Cloud strategies
  • Support audits and compliance initiatives across regulated environments
Monitoring, Reliability & Optimization
  • Architect Log Analytics workspaces, monitoring solutions, dashboards, and alerting frameworks
  • Lead root cause analysis for high‑severity incidents and outages
  • Drive performance optimization, availability improvements, and long‑term remediation plans
  • Own Azure cost optimization, forecasting, and capacity planning
Networking
  • Design and manage complex hybrid network architectures, including:
    • ExpressRoute and VPN Gateways
    • Network segmentation and firewalls
    • Private endpoints and traffic inspection
  • Handle enterprise‑level routing, latency optimization, and failover planning
Governance & Cost Management
  • Define and enforce Azure governance frameworks, including:
    • Azure Policy
    • Naming and tagging standards
    • RBAC models and guardrails
  • Own budget tracking, cost forecasting, and financial governance
  • Establish and mature FinOps practices for cloud optimization
Leadership & Project Responsibilities
  • Act as technical lead or cloud architect for major initiatives
  • Mentor and guide junior Azure administrators
  • Serve as a technical advisor to management and cross‑functional teams
  • Contribute to documentation, standards, and long‑term cloud strategy
QualificationsRequired:
  • 5–10+ years of progressive experience in Azure infrastructure administration and design
  • Deep expertise in Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, and security services
  • Strong experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, high‑severity production issues
Preferred:
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments

Certifications (Preferred)
