Job Summary:
Elite DNA Behavioral Health is seeking to hire an enthusiastic Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in the Ft. Myers Office.
SLPs must have the following important qualities: great verbal, written, listening, and excellent communication skills. Candidate must be compassionate, have excellent critical-thinking skills, and be detail focused. Patience, great collaboration, and consultation skills are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and social communication disorders.
• Provide standardized tests and other instruments to properly diagnose.
• Interpret results of evaluations
• Identify treatment options.
• Create and carry out Individualized Plan of Care
• Maintain Active Plan of Cares
• Administrative tasks such as keeping accurate records and supervision.
• Treat speech, language, and pragmatic communication disorders.
• Provide training and education to family/ caregivers and other professionals.
• Work collaboratively with professionals from other disciplines.
• Supervise Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and Clinical Fellowship students (CFYs)
Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) at Elite DNA Behavioral Health work with a variety of clients including but not limited to:
• Children with delayed speech / language development
• Children with delayed play development and delayed pragmatic language skills.
• Children diagnosed with Autism spectrum and other syndromes/disorders.
• Children with language processing disorders and language-based learning disabilities
• Children who stutter.
• Children with voice disorders
• Children needing/using augmentative communication.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Oral and written language proficiency
• Attention to detail and good record-keeping
• Knowledge of a variety of assessment tools
• Collaborative attitude
• Familiarity with developmental language skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Master's degree in communication Disorders (Clinical Fellowships considered)
• Speech Language Pathologists MUST have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and a state license which needs to be renewed as required.
