Job description

Diversified is hiring for a Material Handler in a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) distribution center that executes the physical movement, storage, and tracking of goods. They are responsible for accurately receiving inventory, picking and packing orders, operating material handling equipment (MHE), and maintaining strict safety and inventory standards to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

Hours: 8:30am-5pm
Pay: $19/hr

Core Responsibilities
  • Receiving & Unloading: Unload inbound freight from trucks and containers, inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies, and verify counts against packing slips.
  • Put-Away & Storing: Transport received goods to designated storage or racking locations using MHE.
  • Order Fulfillment: Retrieve (pick) requested items from inventory, pack items securely, and prepare them for outbound shipping per customer specifications.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain high inventory accuracy by participating in cycle counts, labeling stock, and utilizing RF scanners or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Adhere to OSHA guidelines, maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, and wear required PPE (e.g., steel-toed boots, vests).

Typical Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED is generally preferred.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items (typically 35–50 lbs) for extended periods.
  • Technical Skills: Basic math skills, proficiency with RF scanners, and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience: Previous warehouse, 3PL, or MHE certification experience is heavily desired.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work overtime, handle various shifting client-specific requirements, and operate in non-climate-controlled environments.
