Full Time Springfield, IL, US

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Job Description: Turf and Ornamental Territory Sales Manager Summary/Objective

The Turf & Ornamental (T & O) Territory Sales Manager will provide agronomic support, maintain and develop customer relationships, and manage sales within the designated area. This position will work with approved distributors in their territory on training, education, product knowledge and basic day to day business objectives. This job requires the ability to direct sell, consult, and work with a variety of customers on Turf and Ornamental needs.

The Turf & Ornamental (T & O) Territory Sales Manager will report to the T&O Sales Director. This position will work in the in the Midwest (IL, IN, IA, MI, MN, MO,KS, KY, OH, WI) which include designated accounts as well as targeted goals to grow the T&O business in that region.

Essential Functions
  • Calls on regular or prospective customers to generate new business
  • Manage pricing, marketing, and budgets within the designated area
  • Continue to work with approved distributors and sales representatives on continuing the growth and promotion of all BRANDT product lines to existing and potential new end users
  • Assist approved distributors through marketing on all sales materials, product events and promotion of the BRANDT brands
  • Attend, set up and/or initiate group sales events including but not limited to open houses, lunch and learns, state events, regional events, and national events
  • Present BRANDT products and services to new distributors within the assigned territory
  • Build and provide necessary programs and information for the end users need in the Turf and Ornamental industry
  • Ability to answer questions concerning products, sales, and research information
  • Builds and develops long-term relationships with customers, peers and suppliers
  • Provide problem solving and understanding of customer needs to reach customersโ€™ goals and expectations
  • Ability to analyze and investigate then resolve customer issues
  • Ability to prepare and submit reports to manager regarding sales objectives

The Turf & Ornamental (T & O) Territory Sales Manager will be required to work within their designated territory, predominately will be at the customer and distributorโ€™s locations. This position will require to be in an outdoor or professional office setting.

Classification/Expected Hours of Employment

This position is a full-time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws. Days and hours of work are based needs of customers and distributors.

Travel

This position requires up to 75% travel within their designated territory.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in business, agronomy or similar two to five plus years of experience in agricultural area
  • Basic knowledge of the Turf and Ornamental industry with specifics in plant nutrition is required
  • Experience in turf and ornamental sales or related agricultural field
  • Mathematical skills to convert and read labels to calculate rates as needed
  • Intermediate computer and software skills required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
