Job description

As a Sr. Area Sales Manager - Technical Insulation (Mechanical), you will play an important role in driving profitable growth for Owens Corning by delivering customer-focused solutions and executing commercial strategies across your assigned territory. In this role, you will build strong relationships with distributors and contractors, helping them grow their businesses while strengthening Owens Corning's market position.

This role goes beyond traditional sales by acting as a confided partner to customers, understanding their needs, solving challenges, and delivering value through products, insights, and service. You will collaborate across the organization to create meaningful impact in the market and support long-term business growth.

POSITION LOCATION: Houston Metropolitan Area (Remote; 40-45% travel required)


What You Will Be Doing:
  • Develop and execute territory strategies by assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, customer needs, and growth opportunities across priority markets.
  • Build and expand distribution partnerships by understanding purchasing behaviors, aligning incentives, and developing targeted growth plans.
  • Drive contractor demand through effective communication of Owens Corning's value proposition and by aligning distributor inventory with customer requirements.
  • Deliver volume growth while maintaining pricing discipline through value-based selling and judicious account management.
  • Establish and maintain a structured operating rhythm that includes customer engagement, pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity prioritization.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by evaluating market gaps, competitor activity, and underserved customer segments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, contractors, and other key stakeholders across the territory.
  • Leverage cross-functional resources to develop customer solutions, remove barriers, and accelerate market penetration and share growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Technical teams to align strategy and execution.
  • Utilize customer insights, market intelligence, and sales analytics to support business decisions and growth initiatives.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship development through opportunity closure and ongoing account management.
  • Represent Owens Corning professionally in the market while delivering a high level of customer service and support.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, or a related commercial role.
  • Demonstrated success managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, customer relationship management, and closing opportunities.
  • Experience developing and executing territory, customer, or market growth strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and customer relationships in a dynamic and competitive environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify customer needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive business results.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, sales tools, and business analytics.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40-45% throughout the assigned territory.
