Distributor Sales Development Manager information

What is a distributor sales development manager?

A Distributor Sales Development Manager is responsible for building and managing relationships with distribution partners to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets. They identify opportunities for expanding product reach, coordinate sales strategies, and provide training and support to distributor teams. Their role often involves analyzing sales data, setting performance goals, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maximize market potential. This position is key in ensuring that products are effectively represented and sold through distributor channels.

How does a distributor sales development manager typically collaborate with distributor partners to drive sales growth?

A Distributor Sales Development Manager works closely with distributor partners by providing training, sharing market intelligence, and co-developing sales strategies tailored to local markets. They often conduct joint sales calls, coordinate promotional events, and analyze sales performance data to identify growth opportunities. Regular communication and relationship-building are key, as the manager must ensure alignment on goals, resolve conflicts, and support distributors in achieving sales targets. Collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, logistics, and product teams is also common to ensure distributors have the resources and support needed for success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a distributor sales development manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Distributor Sales Development Manager, you need a strong background in sales strategy, account management, and distribution channel development, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Proficiency with CRM software, sales analytics tools, and inventory management systems is commonly required. Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills help distinguish top performers in this role. These skills are crucial for driving sales growth, optimizing distributor partnerships, and achieving revenue targets in competitive markets.

How you'll shape Revenue Growth and Market Expansion:

  • Collaborate with your team and Account Executives on how to prospect in fresh and innovative ways
  • Get creative and design targeted campaigns to reach out to prospects in your territory
  • Become one with our sales productivity tools - Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Vidyard, Sales Navigator...and more!

Experience we feel will set you up for success:
  • Post-secondary education (or equivalent experience)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong work ethic, willing to put the work in
