What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for the direct management and supervision of assigned direct reports; lead, mentor, and help grow a team of engineers and designers.
  • Oversee project workload leveling and assignments to optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor and analyze Group utilization data; implement corrective actions to meet KPIs.
  • Partner with Department Leader to set and communicate annual utilization targets for employees.
  • Ensure scope, schedule, budget, and quality compliance for projects managed within the Group.
  • Drive improvement in project KPIs (e.g., NLM, WIP) and implement best project management practices.
  • Oversee timely invoicing and financial management of projects; effectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved.
  • Provide input into annual salary adjustments and bonus distribution processes.
  • Collaborate with National and Area Practice Leaders on resource planning and technical priorities.
  • Coordinate with Market Sector Leaders to identify and elevate business development and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Communicate resource needs and workload concerns to Department Leader.
  • Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client to ensure a positive relationship and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and review preliminary designs.
  • Prepare proposals, including budgetary estimates.
  • Lead the development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables.
  • Ensure team adherence to QA/QC program.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of combined engineering and leadership experience in electric distribution engineering, preferably with utility, municipality, or consulting firms
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, CYME, or similar distribution modeling tools
  • Strong knowledge of NESC, NEC, RUS, and utility design standards
  • Experience with Milsoft WindMil E&A software is a plus
  • Experience with O-Calc or PLS-CADD is a plus
  • Ability to specify portions of the engineering systems based on past experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • The ability to work nights and weekends as required to attend meetings or to meet demanding project schedules

Salary Range:
