Colson group is looking for a Distribution Center Manager in our St. Joseph, MI location.This position will be responsible for the safety and performance of the Colson distribution center. This will include making certain to ship orders on time and accurately, receive material from local and international vendors, ensure the accuracy of the inventory and manage the assembly functions. In addition, the role will be responsible for reporting and managing the appropriate metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:


Administers operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming/outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, warehouse inventory.
Ensures products, parts or supplies are shipped, distributed or received in an efficient manner.
Evaluates physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment as necessary.
Works with VP Distribution in ensuring coordination of warehouse activities such as assembly, sales, records controls and purchasing.
Takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss.
Evaluates inventory on hand and ensures inventory accuracy.
Prepares and reviews all distribution-related documents.
Manages Excess and Obsolete inventory.
Screens, hires, trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action for warehouse personnel.
Participates and leads as necessary safety and DC protection activities.
Ensures the DC operation meets the customer expectations for on time and accurate shipments
Ensuring the assembly functions are completed accurately and on time
Calculates and reports metrics needed for all areas of the operation
