Job description

We are looking to build crews where we need to add Laborers, Foreman, Fusers and Operators!! Primoris Distribution Services (PDS), a division of Primoris Services Corporation, is a publicly owned and operated construction contracting company that provides both specific and turnkey services for its customers in the gas, oil, electric and telecommunications industry. Primoris Distribution Services is an industry leader in the installation of gas lines (plastic and steel).

We have immediate openings for Gas Fuser/Pipefitter in Tampa, Orlando, St.Petersburg and Ocala, Florida.

Primary Responsibilities include:

The Fuser’s main responsible is to safely and effectively fit, assemble, thread, fuse and install various types of pipe and pipefittings as necessary to complete utility pipeline installation. The Fuser will perform other duties as required to support the crew.

Requirements:

  • Previous Fuser / Pipefitter / Plumbing experience highly desirable.
  • Working experience in construction, or the utility distribution industry highly desirable, but not required.
  • Requires technical thinking, and the ability to read standards and schematics.
  • Must possess and maintain an appropriate and valid driver’s license. Class A license preferred, or a willingness to obtain one.

Some of the physical demands are:

Must be dependable, and willing and able to perform physically demanding work in the elements. Some of the physical demands are:

  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds on a daily and continual basis.
  • Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually.
  • Lifting, placing of materials, standing, walking, turning, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously.
  • Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.

Fusers are subject to outside weather conditions in elements and will be exposed to a variety of noise and ground surface temperatures.

Fusers must be willing to work overtime as dictated by workload volumes.
