Job Title: Operations ManagerOverview

Fast-growing transportation company based in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily logistics and dispatch activities within our trucking organization. The ideal candidate will oversee operational execution, remote dispatch teams, and broker relationships while driving efficiency and supporting company growth. This position is hybrid and based in Ohio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily trucking operations including dispatch scheduling, route planning, and load coordination
  • Lead and support a team of 12 remote dispatchers with proper workload distribution, performance monitoring, and adherence to procedures
  • Maintain and expand relationships with brokers, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure steady freight flow and optimized revenue
  • Utilize industry contacts to secure profitable loads and strengthen the company's market position
  • Monitor profitability, service levels, and delivery performance while identifying opportunities to reduce cost and increase operational margins
  • Track KPIs related to dispatcher productivity, asset utilization, on time performance, and customer service
  • Resolve operational issues related to delays, breakdowns, cancellations, or customer concerns in a timely manner
  • Improve operational workflows, documentation, and communication standards
  • Partner with finance and compliance for documentation accuracy, billing, claims, and regulatory requirements
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of dispatch personnel
  • Assess and implement technology tools for dispatch, tracking, visibility, and broker relations
  • Prepare operational infrastructure for controlled scaling and future fleet expansion
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation, trucking operations, logistics management, or dispatch leadership
  • Proven experience managing operations for a fleet of 200 or more trucks
  • Demonstrated ability to scale trucking or logistics operations, including team growth, process development, and capacity expansion
  • Strong network and relationships within the trucking and brokerage ecosystem
  • Experience managing remote or distributed operational teams is preferred
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and partner management skills

  • Familiarity with TMS platforms, ELD systems, and load boards
