We invest in you!Industry-leading health insurance on Day 1!Competitive Pay401(K) + company match10 Paid Company HolidaysPaid Time OffProfessional trainingFamily-owned business over 100 years in serviceAn opportunity for career advancement, working as part of an empowering workforceJob Purpose and OverviewThe Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of Team Member?s engaged in receiving, storing, selecting, and delivering bakery products in a cost-effective manner.What will you do as an Operations Manager at Dawn Foods?Manages the overall activities of the distribution center including the directing, advising, and managing of direct and indirect subordinates to ensure strong team member and team performance.Participates in hiring, promotion, discipline, and/or discharge decisions of team members within scope of responsibility.Collaborates with Human Resources on hiring rates, adjustments to Team Member rates of pay/position status, and necessary disciplinary actions to ensure adherence to company policy.Plans and directs the work of subordinates, including the appointment of work among Team Members, and provides training, as necessary.Inspects warehouse facilities and equipment and recommends changes in allocation of space, and shipping procedures.Manages the procurement and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (such as dollies, floor jacks, lift trucks) tractors, and trailers.Oversee pickup and delivery schedules for truck drivers.Answers inquiries on types of service offered rates, schedules, and areas serviced.Investigates customers' complaints involving such matters as damaged items, driver performance, and delay in shipment, and makes necessary adjustment.Examine items to be moved, to ascertain approximate weights and type of shipping required.Ensures proper sanitation practices are in place to make certain appropriate IFS standards are maintained.Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment and takes appropriate measures to ensure product quality and food safety.P/L responsibilities include managing the expenses in the Warehouse and the Delivery department, as well as assist DML in the Operating Budget process.Responsible for the facility?s adherence of company policy and procedures of daily activity in the warehouse and delivery department to ensure all employee and DOT laws are followed.Oversee all hiring and training of people in the warehouse and delivery aspect of our business.Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with Dawn?s culture. This involves being a champion of the Dawn Culture by positively reinforcing actions of others who work with you.What Does It Take to be an Operations Manager at Dawn Foods?Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Bachelor's degree (B. A.) accredited, or in lieu of degree equivalent professional experience.3 years? operations management experience.Ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral form.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Dawn people.Training/background in problem solving and conflict resolution.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
