Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Integrated Sample and Logistics team in Veterinary Medicine Research and Development. Our team members are critical members of the success of the research and development process to ensure that the right material of the right quality gets to the right place at the right time.
Some of the main responsibilities include:
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for domestic, export, and import logistics.
  • Ensures compliance with all government laws and regulations related to import, export, and domestic shipments as well as all regulations related to Hazardous Materials and Radioactive Materials.
  • Provides compliant materials management support for Zoetis materials moving between sites.
  • Maintains the chain of custody for biological specimens.
  • Prepares export shipping documentation and communicates with couriers, freight forwarders and other relevant parties.
  • Provides instructions to exporters detailing specific procedures to ensure safe transportation of the goods as well as expedite customs clearance.
  • Provides all entry information to the company's designated customs broker and reviews all documentation provided to customs by the broker.
  • Ensures compliance with the current Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and internal compliance regulations.
  • Keeps accurate records of all Hazardous Material shipments for auditing by the United States DOT, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and NRC.
  • Support key operational functions including supply inventory and invoice management

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, along with 2-3 years of experience in a research and development transportation/distribution/logistics environment

  • 49 CFR Parts 100-185 U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations Training
  • 49 CFR Parts 173.401-173.477 U.S. DOT Transportation of Radioactive Materials Training
