Job description

Position Summary

Seeking experienced Maintenance Manager for a Distribution Center. This position manages all aspects of building, grounds and equipment maintenance operations for the facility.  Directs maintenance and repair procedures, related activities and personnel to ensure uninterrupted service and operations.  Makes economic feasibility decisions based on equipment conditions and budgeted allowances.  Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Specific Responsibilities

Lead building, grounds and equipment maintenance and repair activities with the assistance of subordinate supervisors.  

         Determine repair and maintenance priorities.

         Select appropriate services, equipment and personnel to complete. 

         Monitor and direct use of outside vendors and contract services.

         Prepare schedules, set deadlines and disseminate policy.

         Ensure the accuracy, condition and timely completion of work.

Plan department activities and monitor the status of work in progress.

         Consult and coordinate with department supervisor and facility management; analyze reports and directives.

         Identify and resolve issues timely; provide technical guidance

         Manage use of the CMMS/EAM preventive maintenance process.

         Assess and evaluate procedures, goals and projects.

         Develop and complete department reporting.

Continuously drive for improvement. Identify opportunities for improvement and create and maintain an environment promoting employee engagement, teamwork and results.

Oversee the training and development of assigned personnel in their assignments. Monitor performance and provide feedback. Facilitate professional development; promote craft skills training and guidelines.

Prepare budget recommendations and monitor department costs and budgets.  Monitor the use of outside vendors and contractors; solicit bids and negotiate pricing.  

Promote a Safe Work Environment in accordance with company policy, OSHA regulations, and local, state and federal laws. May direct the enforcement of safety or other facility directives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or certification in a Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical or related field, or equivalent years of related technical maintenance work experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, facility and electrical maintenance, including machinery installation, setup and repair
  • Background in automated inventory control managements systems
  • Ability to lead and train team members on maintenance processes and build their knowledge and skills
  • Strong safety focus
  • Strong communication, leadership and project management skills
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills; experience with CMMS / EAM systems
Minimum Job Experience Required
  • 5+ years of facilities and industrial equipment maintenance experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or similar environment
  • 3+ years of combined team lead or management experience
