We are seeking a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Maintenance Service Agent to support the United States Capitol Police (USCP)'s, Office of Information Systems (OIS), Radio Services Division (RSD). This work will be performed on-site at the Capitol Complex in Washington, D.C.

So, what will the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Maintenance Service Agent Terrestris do?

As the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Maintenance Service Agent you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of the DAS network that serves the United States Capitol Police (USCP). This critical communication infrastructure is vital to ensuring the safety and security of the U.S. Capitol Complex. The DAS Maintenance Service Agent will be tasked with monitoring and maintaining the system, performing repairs as needed, and ensuring that the network meets high standards for reliability and performance.

What does a typical day look like for the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Maintenance Service Agent?

You will:

  • Provide support for Radio Frequency saturation and reception coverage testing.
  • Conduct Test and validation of individual DAS devices from main head-end through to Remote Repeating Unit.
  • Verify radio frequency coverage performance is in compliance with the United States Capitol Police (USCP) requirements.
  • Provide faulty equipment exchanges and align installed hardware to location-based levels.
  • Validate emergency power hardware is available for outages or faults.
  • Maintain the network management system for the DAS devices to include the network management software.
  • Maintain accurate records of all DAS device locations, nomenclature, maintenance hours in service, Radio Frequency signal levels and performance per device, impacts to DAS devices in construction areas, number of DAS devices serviced during 30, 60, and 90 day periods, Health of DAS for ad-hoc special event incident briefings, and inventory of devices, parts and associated components for review during annual audit practices.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • An accredited DAS certification (ETA or BICSI acceptable).
  • Experience with Anritsu/Aeroflex/ Tektronic/General Dynamics/Bird Technologies.
  • Experience with RF power meters/in-line fixed value attenuation/IP-Protocol controlled Variable Gain Array devices/ Linear wideband RF amplifiers/low-noise mid-gain RF signal amplifiers.
  • Experience in the installation of foam and air dielectric coaxial cable connectors.
  • Motorola Customer Programming Software familiarity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS
  • Experience in the use of ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Linux OS and syntax.
  • 5+ years' experience with Land Mobile Radio DAS.
  • 2+ years' experience with FiberSpan brand LMR DAS products.
  • Experience concept/designing/installing multi-leg antenna systems using Commscope/Andrews Heliax transmission line and accessories as primary signal carrier.
  • Experience with Andrews/RFS Radiating cable systems.
  • Ability to drive and navigate the DC/MD/VA area while transporting devices/materials.
  • Experience with Netgear and Cisco router/switch devices and configuration scripts.
  • Experience with HP Server centers and maintenance of RAID drive controls and backups.
  • Experience with ICMP and SNMP protocols for managing Network Monitoring scripts.
  • Experience with network media converter systems over dedicated fiber networks.
  • Experience with .NET and Java software application to include design/formatting.
  • Experience with Commscope fiber optic cabling.
  • Experience with AC/DC power supply systems to include battery backup topologies.
