Job description

We are seeking a skilled Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Technician to join our team and contribute to the successful implementation and maintenance of DAS solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

Installation & Configuration

· Install, test, and commission DAS and BDA systems for cellular and public safety communications according to project specifications and industry standards.

· Ensure system alignment with carrier and regulatory standards, and compliance with local building codes.

System Design & Optimization

· Collaborate on design interpretation, perform field surveys, and optimize system performance.

· Conduct coverage analysis and adjust systems for optimal signal quality.

Testing & Troubleshooting

· Perform system testing using spectrum analyzers and other tools, ensuring signal integrity.

· Diagnose and resolve issues related to cabling, signal interference, and hardware malfunctions.

Project Coordination & Collaboration

· Oversee installation teams, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to 2-4 installers throughout the project lifecycle.

· Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to meet project timelines.

· Communicate with cellular carriers and public safety agencies for system approvals.

Compliance & Safety

· Adhere to OSHA regulations and industry standards (e.g., FCC, NFPA) during installations.

· Ensure safe work practices and system compliance with safety protocols.

Client Support & Documentation

· Provide client training, technical support, and post-installation assistance.

· Maintain accurate project documentation and system performance reports.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

· High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or relevant certifications.

· 2-4 years of hands-on experience with cellular DAS, BDA systems, or RF communications systems.

· Experience collaborating with cellular carriers (e.g., Verizon, AT&T) and public safety AHJs (authority having jurisdiction)

Technical Skills

· Proficiency with RF signal testing tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers, sweep testers, PIM testers).

· Familiarity with DAS components such as antennas, coaxial cables, fiber optics, and amplifiers.

· Knowledge of public safety standards and codes (e.g., NFPA 72, IFC, FCC regulations).

· Basic understanding of electrical and networking concepts (e.g., cabling, power systems, IP networking).

Certifications

· Certifications such as iBwave Design, DAS hardware manufacturers, or NICET In-Building Public Safety (IB-PCS) certification are highly desirable.

· OSHA 10/30 certification or equivalent safety training.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).

· Willingness to travel to different job sites, which will include construction environments.

· Comfortable with fieldwork, including both indoor and outdoor installations.

Soft Skills

· Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and troubleshooting abilities.

· Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, and cellular carriers.

Licenses

Compensation:
