Job Description:

As an Installation Technician with BearCom, you will be involved in the installation and support of wireless and electronic communications systems.

Our Technicians are the heart of every service location, and we rely on their expertise in the delivery of the best service and solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service and possess the technical ability to create imaginative solutions that meet and exceed the most challenging customer needs.

  • Physical Installation of Data Cabling and Associated Mounting Infrastructure
  • Support Commissioning of Communications and Low Voltage Systems
  • Perform Site Walks to Determine Installation Requirements to Leverage in Customer Proposals
  • Recommend Appropriate Equipment and Hardware That Meets Customer Requirements
  • Some Regional and/or Overnight Travel and On-Call Hours May Be Required. Per Diem Provided When Traveling.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic Electronics Background a Plus
  • Competent Operating Basic Hand and Power Tools
  • Able to Lift 50 lbs. and Work in Unusual and Sometimes Difficult Positions (e.g., Climbing Ladders and Scaffolding, Crawl Spaces, High-Reach Lift Equipment, Exposure to Elements)
  • Familiarity With Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience Reading Blueprints and/or Logic Diagrams a Plus
  • Data Cabling Experience a Plus (CAT 5/6, Coaxial, Fiber, Support Devices, etc.)
  • OSHA Safety Training and Low Voltage Certifications a Plus
  • Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Installation a Plus
  • Must Have Valid Driver’s License
  • Must Have High School Diploma
  • Drug Screenings, Motor Vehicle Record, and Background Checks Part of the Hiring Process
  • Experience installing CAT 5/6 cable, related support devices, and terminating coaxial cable.
  • Experience installing communication systems in buildings, DAS (Distributed Antenna System) preferred.
  • Installation and/or repair experience in either two-way radio, CCTV, security alarms, RF signal distribution, broadband, and low voltage systems preferred.
  • Ability to use basic tools and test equipment including hand tools, power drills, multi-meters, and watt meters.
  • Must physically be able to lift 50 lbs., maneuver into and out of heavy equipment and work on ladders and other elevated locations including at times standing for extended periods, and occasionally working outside in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to understand basic wiring diagrams and basic DC circuit theory a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, keeping up with work schedules, work under pressure and be able to meet deadlines for delivering quality solutions on time.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • OSHA Safety Training and Low Voltage certifications are a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Drug screenings and background checks are part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle Record check.
