BAS Controls Technician - Fort Collins, CO - $40.00-$57.00/hr + OT - Commercial & Institutional BuildingsAbout the Opportunity

A fast-growing Building Automation & HVAC controls integrator is seeking a highly skilled BAS Controls Technician to support projects throughout the Fort Collins and Northern Colorado region. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and programming of building automation systems across commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission BAS/DDC systems including AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, and hydronic equipment
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of controls hardware, software, and communication networks
  • Create or modify programming, graphics, and system databases (Niagara, Distech, or similar)
  • Conduct functional testing, point-to-point checkout, and system validation
  • Install and configure sensors, actuators, relays, and control devices
  • Assist mechanical contractors with equipment start-up and system integration
  • Provide customer training and technical support
  • Document commissioning logs, system updates, and testing procedures
Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years of BAS/DDC or HVAC controls experience
  • Proficiency with Tridium Niagara, Distech, Siemens, or Automated Logic systems
  • Deep understanding of HVAC controls sequences and mechanical system operation
  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and networked control architecture
  • Strong ability to interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and submittals
  • Skilled in programming, testing, and optimizing control logic
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work independently in the field
