Job Description:
SUMMARY
Teaches basic skills in language, writing, reading, mathematics, study skills, and test taking strategy in accordance with ASPIRE benchmarks for mastery of subjects. Provides leadership, supervision, and control of classroom activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Leads training and implementation of the ASPIRE Ohio Options for Adults Curriculum
  • Uses the ASPIRE Assessment Policy as a guideline for monitoring student performance (initial and progress assessments, and
  • measurable skill gains)
  • Uses the ASPIRE Data System to document attendance and maintain student records
  • Creates and maintains lesson plans for each class
  • Creates and maintains an individualized learning plan for each students
  • Monitors attendance, maintain records, scores, and evaluates educational performance of participants
  • When appropriate, identifies and refers participants for supportive services to enhance student success
  • Participates in training sessions and/or attend regional/state conferences for professional development when needed
  • Acts as the Ohio Options for Adults, ASPIRE program representative at Cuyahoga Community College and community events
  • Mentors and supports the participants of the ASPIRE program
  • Instructs via distance learning methods when needed
  • Performs other duties as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in teaching or classroom facilitation
  • Experience working with adult learners
  • Experience with curriculum development and classroom management

This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, Grade 10, with a Minimum Hiring Rate of: $25.00/ hour.
