As a Wildland Fire Dispatcher, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating resources and information for both Initial Attack and Logistics operations, depending on fire activity and staffing needs.

Minimum QualificationsSuccessful completion of a course of training under a formally established Wildland Fire Dispatcher 1 training plan with the State of Alaska. OR Certification from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) as an Expanded Dispatch Recorder (EDRC) And Additional NWCG certification as either Expanded Dispatch Support Dispatcher (EDSD) or Initial Attack Dispatcher (IADP) And Any combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one's knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
