JOB DESCRIPTION

Coordinate and oversee driver dispatch operations, ensuring proper route scheduling and execution, while guaranteeing punctual, safe, and high-quality deliveries that meet Leon Logistics LTD’s service standards.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
  • Plan and schedule all logistics routes optimizing resources, considering delivery times, customer locations, traffic, and road conditions.
  • Monitor in real time the location of each unit through tracking software (Motive), generating alerts and applying solutions to any issues in the logistics operation, and reporting incidents in real time.
  • Communicate clear and precise instructions to drivers before, during, and after each trip, ensuring they understand the routes, schedules, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and federal and state transportation laws, supervising Hours of Service (HOS) and safety conditions.
  • Manage route changes and immediate rescheduling in case of accidents, delays, mechanical problems, or adverse weather conditions.
  • Record and report Hours of Service, detention times, and any event that affects scheduling, keeping the operations database updated.
  • Answer calls, messages, and reports from drivers, resolving incidents effectively and promptly.
  • Maintain communication with customers, providing updates on the status of their deliveries, schedule changes, or any eventuality.
  • Review, approve, and document expenses related to fuel, tolls, and minor repairs, ensuring efficient cost control.
  • Supervise the correct loading and unloading of goods, ensuring compliance with safety and product handling procedures.
  • Prepare operational reports whether daily, weekly, or monthly, including performance metrics, route efficiency, and delivery compliance.
  • Collaborate with the administrative team for proper payroll management, payments, and compensations related to hours worked and detention times.
  • Foster a collaborative, professional, and respectful work environment among drivers, warehouse staff, and administration.
