Location: Lansing, MI
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday 7 AM - 3 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM depends on department needs

Position Summary
  • Shaheen Chevrolet is seeking a friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented Parts Driver to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate is reliable, self-starting, able to multi-task, and has delivery driving experience.

  • Valid Driver’s License and Chauffeur’s License are required.

  • Medical Card Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).


Schedule Details
  • Full Time

  • Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM - 3 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • $16-$18 an hour depending on experience

Essential Duties
  • Maintain a high level of grooming, shaven, and uniform appearance

  • Provide courteous and efficient service to all parts customers

  • Drive in a safe and courteous manner

  • Utilize dispatch software for all deliveries

  • Write up all returns for credits daily

  • Receive cores and warranty parts for credits daily

  • Assist in housekeeping of parts department daily

  • Inspect shipments for damage and quantity daily

  • Perform other duties and tasks as directed by management

  • Ensure all invoices are signed and/or payment is received before parts are given to customers

  • Inform management of any customer complaints daily

  • Tie down and secure any loose freight before starting deliveries

  • Check all invoices against supplied manifests to verify parts for current route

  • Mark all parts with ID tags if necessary

  • Deliver all receipts, cash, checks, and credits to dispatcher at the end of every run

  • Report to the dispatcher at the beginning and end of every run for route assignment

  • Place truck keys in the key box at the end of the day

  • Obtain and return gas cards with receipts on the same day

  • Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors

  • Check with the dispatch clerk before leaving for last-minute pick-ups or deliveries

  • Check payments received against invoices for each delivery

  • Unload truck each night and turn in all paperwork to the dispatch clerk

  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck, including fueling, checking oil, cleaning, and ensuring inspections are up to date

  • Advise dispatch clerk if delivery truck needs repairs or maintenance

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily

  • Education/Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED

    • One to three months of related experience and/or training

    • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

  • Language Skills:

    • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

  • Mathematical Skills:

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

  • Reasoning Ability:
