Emergency Communications Dispatcher – Part-Time

Location: Aberdeen, MS
Position Type: Part-Time

Position Overview

The City of Aberdeen is seeking a reliable and attentive Part-Time Emergency Communications Dispatcher to assist with emergency communications and support local patrol and emergency response personnel.

This position is responsible for receiving emergency calls, monitoring radio communications, accurately documenting information, and quickly relaying important details to the appropriate personnel. The ideal candidate must be able to remain calm, focused, and professional in situations that may require immediate attention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor police and emergency radio communications.
  • Answer and process emergency telephone calls.
  • Gather accurate information from callers and communicate details to patrol officers and emergency personnel.
  • Dispatch appropriate personnel based on the nature and urgency of each call.
  • Maintain accurate radio logs, call records, and other required documentation.
  • Enter and update information in department records and databases.
  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties related to dispatch operations.
