About the Role:

As the Manager of Learning & Talent, you will provide strategic leadership and play a critical part in cultivating a culture that inspires learners to unlock their learning potential through development and service excellence initiatives at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. This role provides daily oversight and direction to the Learning & Development Manager while serving as both the front door for learning requests and a trusted advisor to resort leaders to develop strategies and targeted learning solutions that align with business priorities, operational needs, and the Cast experience.

Through strong learning operations, advisory partnerships, and program leadership, this role oversees onboarding, leadership development, service excellence learning, and continuous training solutions influencing resort-wide performance, culture, and results.

This full-time, salaried position reports to the Human Resources Director and will be located onsite at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.

What will you do:

  • Act as the central point of contact ("front door") for learning and development requests.
  • Lead learning advisory conversations with Operations, Line of Business leaders, and HR partners to assess needs and recommend solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic learning partner who translates business challenges into effective learning solutions.
  • Provide strategic oversight for onboarding, leadership development, service excellence, continuous learning programs across the resort and conduct prioritization analysis in collaboration with leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality work.
  • Support business and HR strategies by designing and deploying Leader and Cast development solutions that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Operations Training, Disney University, Safety, Workforce Management, and Line of Business leaders to deliver consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
  • Oversee the scheduling, delivery, and continuous monitoring of Resort Onboarding programs, including Resort Orientation, Line of Business overviews, and regulatory and safety training.
  • Manage learning plans for both Hourly and Salaried Cast, across Operations and Leadership audiences.
  • Lead project management for learning initiatives from planning and analysis through delivery and sustainment.
  • Provide consultation on the recruitment, selection, design, development, and performance expectations of facilitators, trainers, and learning resources.
  • Observe onboarding, leadership, and service excellence sessions to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide system, process, and learner insights back to instructional design and partners.
  • Create, sustain, and continuously evolve a comprehensive service auditing program by assessing guest service standards and refining them in response to operational needs and industry trends.
  • Provide financial leadership and accountability for the learning organization, managing budgets and costs

  • Excellent attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to interact with multiple clients simultaneously and manage priorities with competing demands.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS, Viva Engage).
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Resort or Hotel Operations.
  • Disney leadership or training experience.
  • Proficiency with learning systems such as D Learn/SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Experience adopting and applying new learning technologies.
  • Ability to facilitate highly complex content and agendas, adapting approach and style to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles and performance models.
  • Ability to lead through influence in cross-functional, team-based environments.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Performance Improvement, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Hospitality, or related field-or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Hawaii is $126,800 to $154,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
