Foxdale Village, a life plan community guided by Quaker values, is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in State College, PA. Foxdale was founded in 1985 by members of the State College Friends Meeting and is founded on the values of treating all with dignity and respect. Foxdale is regarded as a premier healthcare facility both locally and nationally and has been voted "Best Retirement Community in State College, PA" for over a decade. Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages and offers a range of health services with 46 beds in skilled nursing for short and long-term care, two memory care neighborhoods, and 55 beds in personal care, all with private accommodations. We are seeking a full-time Dishwasher/Utility Worker to join our dedicated Dining Department.


We are currently hiring for a Full-Time position and expected work 40 hours per week (12pm-830pm) and every other weekend/holiday.  


The position of Dishwasher/Utility Worker is responsible to perform the essential job duties of:

  • Scrapes/rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, equipment, and work area. 
  • Washes pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation. Let dry completely before storing or reusing. 
  • Operates the dish machine, including cleaning, de-liming and properly maintaining.
  • Ensure compliance with all outlined safety procedures, up to and including use of cut gloves when handling and cleaning knives. 
  • Maintain and track temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards. Let supervisor know in a timely manner if levels are off. 
  • Clean and maintain dish area in an orderly manner to include mats, clear walkway and in compliance with all other safety standards. 
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards. 
  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks and all other food prep surface as assigned. 
  • Segregates and removes trash and boxes and compostable items and places it in designated containers. Cleans out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas. 
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and service areas observing all safe lifting standards. 
  • May assist with loading or unloading supplies and product.
  • Complies with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a dish machine or similar work experience is preferred
  • This position must be able to follow both written and oral directions and effectively communicate in English with staff and residents
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop and lift regularly in order to complete job duties
  • Able to work holidays and weekends as part of a rotating work schedule
  • Maintain a reliable and dependable attendance profile
