Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Working under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Tech provides day-to-day care and upkeep of the park.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide general landscape care and maintenance
  • Care for and maintain all plant beds and their surrounding landscapes
  • Mowing, string trimming, weeding, mulching, raking, sweeping, pruning, planting, and other related duties
  • Perform routine custodial maintenance, including thorough cleaning throughout the day and regular deep cleaning, disinfecting, graffiti removal, replenishment of supplies, and monitoring and emptying of trash in public and office restrooms
  • Provide general waste management care of park grounds, removing all litter
  • Empty trash and recycling cans and transport them to the collection areas
  • Clean all paths, entrances, bench seats, perimeter, and other hard surface areas
  • Operate various types of equipment, including a utility vehicle
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report items that require repair
  • Assist in the preparation, setup, and breakdown of events as needed
  • Cooperate with other staff within the department and other department personnel in completing assigned tasks
  • Interact with park visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Display initiative and dependability while working alone or alongside staff

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • High school / GED preferred
  • 1 year of landscape and/or janitorial experience required
  • Basic knowledge and experience with landscape power equipment
  • Basic knowledge and experience with electrical and plumbing is a plus
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, following directions, and completing assigned tasks
  • Must be able to work under pressure and remain calm and courteous
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of regularly scheduled shifts and occasional overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform heavy physical labor daily in all weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
  • This position takes place outdoors, under all weather conditions
