SUMMARY OF POSITION


The Director of Student Ministry @ MBC Loudoun will lead a ministry to middle school and high school students and their families that is centered on Jesus, rooted in Scripture, and focused on helping students take meaningful next steps of faith. We are looking for a leader who is burdened to reach students across Loudoun County with the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially students who are unchurched, dechurched, spiritually curious, or disconnected from Christian community.


This leader will give primary attention to reaching, discipling, and sending students as followers of Jesus who live with faith, courage, and purpose in their schools, teams, neighborhoods, and friend groups. The Director of Student Ministry will also inspire, equip, and shepherd a Serve Team of adult leaders to do the work of ministry by helping students feel known, loved, challenged, and sent.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead a missionary-minded Student Ministry strategy that reaches, disciples, and sends middle school and high school students across Loudoun County with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Build a culture where every student is encouraged to reach one person with the hope of the gospel, take next steps as a disciple of Jesus, and live as a witness in their schools, teams, neighborhoods, and friend groups.
  • Recruit, inspire, equip, and shepherd a Serve Team of adult leaders who joyfully do the work of ministry by helping students feel known, loved, challenged, and sent.
  • Faithfully teach God’s Word in Student Ministry environments in a way that is biblically grounded, culturally aware, and compelling for churched, unchurched, dechurched, and spiritually curious students.
  • Disciple and develop student leaders who are growing in Christ, serving the church, and taking personal responsibility for the mission of God in their generation.
  • Partner with parents by providing encouragement, resources, and practical tools that help them disciple their students in the everyday rhythms of life.
  • Create welcoming and intentional environments where students can build meaningful relationships, hear the gospel clearly, ask honest questions, and take next steps toward Jesus.
  • Collaborate with the MBC Student Ministry team to plan and execute church-wide moments such as Winter Camp, Summer Camp, and other strategic events that help students encounter Jesus and grow as disciples.
  • Establish and maintain clear safety, security, and care practices that protect minors and create trustworthy ministry environments for students, parents, and leaders.

OTHER MINISTRIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Faithfully participate in the life of McLean Bible Church through membership, worship, and ongoing involvement in a Church Group.
  • Serve as a trusted member of the MBC Loudoun team by contributing to staff meetings, ministry planning, prayer rhythms, and location-wide initiatives.
  • Provide care and ministry support as needed, including student and family care, visitation, assimilation, follow-up, and other ministry responsibilities assigned by the MBC Loudoun Pastor.
  • Use personal gifting, leadership, and ministry experience to strengthen the overall health and mission of MBC Loudoun.
  • Model a life of spiritual maturity, humility, collaboration, and joyful service among staff, Serve Team members, students, and families.
