Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and security-focused Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of ATSER’s network infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of our SaaS production systems, Azure-based disaster recovery environments, and co-hosted legacy infrastructure.

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, security, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our physical, virtual, and cloud network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and availability of ATSER’s SaaS production environments , Azure-based disaster recovery environments , and legacy production systems hosted in a co-hosted data center.

This position requires a highly experienced engineer with deep technical expertise in Azure networking, firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, segmentation, WAF technologies, and network security operations. The ideal candidate will also be capable of owning network-related StateRAMP boundary documentation and network security controls aligned to NIST 800-53.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize ATSER’s physical, virtual, and cloud network infrastructure across Azure, on-premises, and co-hosted environments.
  • Support networking across production, disaster recovery, and legacy systems to ensure seamless connectivity and scalability.
  • Manage and support networking across Azure, Hyper‑V, on‑premises systems, and co-hosted data center environments.
  • Ensure availability, performance, and security of ATSER’s SaaS production infrastructure and supporting network layers.
  • Administer and maintain Azure networking components, including VNets, routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Support Azure‑native services such as Front Door, Private Link, internal DNS, and Application Gateway / WAF.
  • Perform upgrades and changes required by Microsoft for supported Azure services and dependent platforms.
Security & Network Protection
  • Configure, monitor, patch, upgrade, and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, WAF platforms, and related technologies.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Azure Firewall, Fortinet firewalls, IPSec tunnels, and site‑to‑site / remote access VPN connectivity.
  • Implement secure network segmentation, VLAN strategies, and micro‑segmentation to protect critical systems.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
  • Design and support high‑availability network and firewall configurations, including Fortinet HA.
  • Maintain Azure disaster recovery networking, ensuring failover readiness and reliable recovery operations.
  • Ensure availability, performance, and security of ATSER’s SaaS production infrastructure , including Azure-hosted environments and legacy production systems in a co-hosted data center.
Routing, Connectivity & Troubleshooting
  • Configure and support enterprise routing protocols, including BGP and advanced routing strategies.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across firewalls, VPNs, DNS, routing, and switching in multi-environment infrastructures.
  • Ensure consistent connectivity across Windows, Linux, cloud, and on‑premises systems.
Monitoring & Performance Optimization
  • Monitor network performance, utilization, availability, and security posture.
  • Identify risks and implement improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, standards, procedures, and operational documentation.
  • Own StateRAMP boundary documentation and support implementation of NIST 800‑53 network security controls.
  • Assist with audits and ensure readiness for compliance assessments and continuous monitoring.
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, development, and compliance teams to support secure and scalable operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across network architecture, security posture, and operational processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology , Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer or equivalent senior‑level network infrastructure role.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure networking ; Azure is required.
  • Strong experience supporting production environments , Azure disaster recovery environments , and legacy hosted infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Azure Firewall, Fortinet firewalls (including Fortinet HA), IPSec tunnels, VPN technologies, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Azure Application Gateway / Azure WAF, and VNets and Terraform.
  • Strong experience withBGPand deep understanding ofTCP/IP networking.
  • Experience implementing, configuring, and maintainingphysical and virtual network infrastructure.
  • Experience withrouters, switches, VLANs, segmentation, and micro‑segmentation.
  • Experience supporting bothLinuxandWindowsenvironments.
  • Experience monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, performing infrastructure upgrades and patching, and producing clear technical documentation with strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with F5 BIG‑IP, Azure Front Door, Azure security boundary design, Azure Private Link, Azure internal DNS, Dell switches, Ubiquiti networking equipment, and Hyper‑V.
  • Experience supporting StateRAMP boundary documentation and network controls mapped to NIST 800‑53.
  • Azure networking certifications, especially Azure Network Engineer Associate or similar.
