Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)
Duration: July 13, 2026 - December 31, 2026
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST (7.5 hours/day)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to support and manage enterprise Oracle database environments across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, and on-premises platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of mission-critical database systems while driving cloud modernization, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, cloud-based deployments, disaster recovery solutions, database security, and automation tools. This position requires strong collaboration with application, infrastructure, security, and data governance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Database Administration
  • Manage and support Oracle databases (11g through 23c) across OCI, AWS, and on-prem environments.
  • Administer Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and Multitenant Architectures (CDB/PDB).
  • Monitor database health, availability, and performance to meet enterprise SLAs.
  • Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
  • Design, implement, and support Oracle deployments within OCI, including Autonomous Database, Exadata Cloud Service, and DB Systems.
  • Support Oracle workloads hosted on AWS EC2 and RDS.
  • Develop and maintain hybrid connectivity solutions using VPN, FastConnect, and AWS Direct Connect.
  • Lead cloud migration and modernization projects.
Performance & Capacity Management
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and cloud-native monitoring tools.
  • Perform SQL and PL/SQL tuning and database optimization.
  • Forecast capacity, storage, and growth requirements.
Backup, Recovery & High Availability
  • Implement and manage RMAN backup and recovery strategies.
  • Maintain and test disaster recovery solutions including Data Guard and Active Data Guard.
  • Ensure recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) are consistently achieved.
Security & Compliance
  • Enforce database security standards including TDE encryption, patch management, and access controls.
  • Support compliance audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement least-privilege access models and database activity monitoring.
Automation & DevOps
  • Develop automation solutions using Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and OCI Resource Manager.
  • Integrate database administration processes into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Standardize provisioning, configuration management, and patching activities.
  • Support AI-powered database capabilities and emerging LLM-enabled database features.
Data Governance & Analytics Support
  • Support enterprise data governance initiatives including metadata management, data lineage, and data quality programs.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to improve data accessibility and reliability.
  • Ensure database environments align with organizational governance standards.
Operational Support
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotations.
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
  • Lead projects from planning through implementation while working effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on experience administering enterprise Oracle databases.
  • Strong expertise with Oracle Database 11g-23c.
  • Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and Multitenant Architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS-hosted Oracle environments.
  • Experience with Linux administration (Oracle Linux and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting and database automation.
  • Deep understanding of Oracle database internals, memory management, storage architecture, disaster recovery, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle Autonomous Database and Exadata Cloud Service.
