Job description

Patient Services Coordinator

Decatur, Illinois Full-time | Mondayโ€“Friday $19.00 per hour to start | $20.00 per hour after 90 days

Position Overview

Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO) is seeking a dependable and organized Patient Services Coordinator for our Decatur clinic.

In this medical front-office position, you will be the first point of contact for patients and help keep the clinic running smoothly. Primary responsibilities include welcoming patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, completing patient registration, verifying insurance information and supporting the clinical team.

This position is a strong fit for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates professionally and can manage multiple priorities in a busy healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients, families and visitors and assist with check-in
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient questions professionally
  • Schedule, confirm and coordinate patient appointments
  • Enter and update patient demographics and insurance information
  • Verify insurance coverage and communicate patient financial responsibilities
  • Collect required consent forms, HIPAA acknowledgments and other patient documentation
  • Coordinate patient flow and help clinicians remain on schedule
  • Scan, organize and maintain accurate patient records
  • Assist with routine billing and administrative responsibilities
  • Communicate with referral sources and internal departments
  • Maintain an organized, professional and welcoming front-office environment
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage several responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort using computers, office equipment and data-entry systems
  • Dependable attendance and availability to work the complete Mondayโ€“Friday schedule
  • Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of front-desk, administrative or patient-service experience
  • Experience in a medical, dental, physical therapy, chiropractic or other outpatient setting
  • Experience with patient scheduling, registration or insurance verification
  • Familiarity with electronic health record or patient-management systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong experience in scheduling, administration, reception or high-volume customer service are encouraged to apply.
